Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 3, 2026

Word and Way (“we”, “our”) is a Bible reading application. We’ve designed the app so that most of what you do stays on your device, and this policy explains the few cases where it doesn’t.

The short version

What we collect

Information you give us

When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address. That is the only information we actively collect. We do not ask for your name, phone number, church, denomination, or anything else.

Information collected automatically

Inside the mobile app, we collect anonymous, aggregated usage analytics (which translations are opened, how often verses are marked, which reading plans are started). These events do not contain the content of your notes, your highlights, or any identifier that could be traced back to you.

On this website, we use privacy-friendly analytics (no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting). Standard server access logs are retained for 14 days.

How we use it

What we don’t do

Where it’s stored

Waitlist emails are stored by our email provider on servers in the United States. The mobile app stores everything else on your device using iOS / Android’s standard local storage APIs.

Children

Word and Way is for all ages, but we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

You can request access to the information we hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it. Email privacy@wordandway.app with the subject “Privacy request” and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are in the EU or UK, GDPR gives you additional rights, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We’re happy to help with any of them.

Changes

If we meaningfully change this policy, we’ll date-stamp the update at the top and, if you’ve given us an email, send one short note explaining what’s different.
