Terms of Service
Last updated: November 3, 2026
Welcome to Word and Way. These terms (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Word and Way mobile application and this website. By using either, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Word and Way is a Bible reading application developed and operated by the Word and Way team (“we”, “us”). The Service includes the mobile app, the content it displays, the reading plans it offers, and the website at wordandway.app.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have your parent or guardian’s permission.
3. Your account and your content
You do not need an account to read the Bible in Word and Way. If you do create one in a future version, you’re responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for anything that happens under your login.
Any notes, highlights, or annotations you create inside the app (“Your Content”) belong to you. We don’t upload or claim ownership of them. If a future sync feature changes that, we’ll ask you to opt in.
4. Scripture texts
The biblical translations included in Word and Way are either in the public domain (e.g., the King James Version) or licensed from their respective rights holders. We display them within the terms of those licenses, which may include minimum quotation thresholds and attribution requirements. Full attribution for each translation appears in-app under Settings › About.
You may copy and share short quotations for personal, non-commercial use. You may not redistribute an entire translation or scrape the text at scale.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app;
- use the Service to send spam, harass others, or distribute malware;
- bulk-download or scrape content from the app or this website;
- use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
6. Pricing and purchases
At launch, Word and Way is offered as a one-time purchase through the Apple App Store (and in the future, Google Play). All sales are handled by Apple or Google under their respective terms; refund requests should be directed to them in the first instance. If you paid us directly, email hello@wordandway.app within 14 days of purchase and we’ll make it right.
7. Updates and changes to the Service
Software gets better. We may add, change, or remove features. If a change meaningfully removes something you’re counting on, we’ll do our best to tell you in advance.
8. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time by deleting the app. We may terminate or suspend access if you materially violate these Terms; we’ll usually give you a chance to fix the issue first.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is”. We make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. Scripture is reliable; software is sometimes not. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months preceding the claim (or, if you paid nothing, $50 USD).
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
12. Changes to these Terms
If we meaningfully change these Terms, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, if we have your email, send a brief summary of what’s different.
